• Intro to Smartphone Photography: The advantages and disadvantages of a Smartphone camera
• Understanding the human eye: What makes a photo good and attention-grabbing?
• Learn the 7 basic principles that make photos look nicer. How you can take beautiful photos just by following these rules
• Simplicity: How to declutter your photos by following the sub rules of Space, Rule of Thirds, and Golden Points
• Closer: Why humans prefer their subjects larger and closer
• Live & Dead Spaces: How you can tell a photo-story just by compositing your subjects at these areas
• Geometry: How to take notice of geometrical lines & apply this set of rules into your daily shots
• Patterns: Identifying patterns like Repetition, Perspective, Starburst etc & how professionals frequently use these rules to their advantage
• Contrast: Learn how contrast is not just about colors, but also about Layers, Movement, & Focus
• Shadows: Understand and master the rule of Shadows, Silhouette & Reflections

Practical Session:
The practical session will ensure that participants get the following hands-on:
• Participants will be guided & have hands-on practicals to set up your Smartphone correctly
• Participants’ hands-on practicals to master various compositional techniques
• Participants will be given assignments to shoot photos using specific compositional techniques
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Participants will learn step-by-step how to:
• Identify relevant specifications to look for in a Smartphone camera
• Understand the advantages & limitations of a Smartphone camera
• Navigate and manipulate the camera settings of a Smartphone to produce better images
• Identify the points of interest & compositional rules in any location before taking a photo
• Use various compositional techniques to attract a viewers attention to the photo
• Combine different compositional rules into 1 photo to add layers to your photos
Class Details:
Full-day class from 10am to 5pm
Meals are excluded. You can have your own lunch at the restaurants nearby the academy
Certificate of Completion is awarded upon your completion of this class.
Class is divided into 2 sections throughout both day: Theory Session and Practical Session
We maintain a low student-to-trainer ratio allowing for better learning & shooting opportunities & experimentation with various camera settings
Professional models are hired to allow participants to practice their newly learned skills in shooting.
Class notes will be provided when you sign up via our online system; these include videos, cheat sheets, and also summary notes, which you can watch or print at your own convenience.
There is a minimum number of 5 participants for this class. If this minimum number is not achieved, we have no alternative but to reschedule this class or refund accordingly.
